Earshot is made by Daydream Development Inc. It has an iPhone app, a Mac app and a relay server that passes messages between them. This page explains what Earshot stores, where it's stored and how to delete it.

The short version

What the relay stores

The relay runs on Cloudflare. For each account it stores:

Everything is encrypted in transit between your devices and the relay. Session messages aren't end-to-end encrypted, because the relay has to read them to deliver them and to catch your iPhone up after it's been offline. We only look at them if you ask us to help with a problem.

What stays on your devices

Logs

The relay keeps short operational logs, such as sign-ins, account deletions and errors, to keep the service running. They're deleted automatically within 7 days. Cloudflare handles IP addresses to deliver traffic and limit abuse. Earshot doesn't store them.

Services Earshot uses

Subscriptions are bought and managed through your Apple ID, so Earshot never sees your payment details. The relay doesn't store anything about your subscription.

Deleting your data

In the iPhone app, open Settings and tap Delete Account. This deletes everything the relay stores for your account right away, signs out your iPhones, unpairs your Macs and disconnects Earshot from your Apple ID. Removing a single iPhone or Mac deletes its record and push token. Nothing on your Mac is deleted.

Children

Earshot isn't meant for children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
